On Sunday April 15, 2012 St. Louis Center hosted the 29th Annual Recognition Dinner honoring friends, residents, and staff. This yearly event, organized by the SLC Parents Association, brings approximately 200-250 people to our campus every year. This year’s theme was “Think Spring.” Beginning with Mass, the celebrant was Rev. Fr. James McDougall of St. Francis Parish in Ann Arbor, MI. Fr. McDougall received the “Good Shepherd Award,” this year, for the ongoing dedication of he and his parishioners to St. Louis Center. After dinner, the following awards were presented:
Community Advisory Council member George Mallison received this year’s Citizenship Award for his work during the 2011 expansion of the Family Welcome Center, representatives from St. Joseph Catholic School in Howell, MI were recognized as Volunteers of the Year, Direct Care worker Janet Best was named the Employee of the Year, and Robert Neff received the Resident of the Year Award. Members of the Italian American Club of Livonia presented a large donation to support our transportation program, and our residents danced to the music of DJ-Jerry Martell of Chelsea.
