Filipino benefactors cut the ribbon to reopen facilityManila – The covered court serves as a venue for many different activities at the Guanella Center and was due for a little fixing up. The renovation and beautification of the covered court was sponsored by the generous people of the Philippine-Italian Association (PIA).  The whole community was very grateful for the generosity of the PIA. An inauguration celebration was planned by Fr. Eduardo Cerbito, SdC and some representatives of the PIA. On April 14th at 9:00 am, the celebration began with Holy Mass presided by Fr. Cerbito, in Guanella Center. The ribbon cutting was followed by a short program, different groups from the Guanellian Mission like Guanellian Elderly Ministry (GEM), Guanellian Lectors, Commentators and Usherette Ministry (GLCUM), Guanellian Youth Ministry (GYM) and most especially from our PWD’s (people with disabilities) shared their talents to express their sincere gratitude to the PIA for their generosity. Mrs. Betty Ildefonso-Chalkley, a representative of PIA, gave a short message and wishes to all the people present. Closing remarks and prayer were led by Fr. Charlton Viray, SdC, Superior of the Community. Thank you to all the people who help and support the mission of the Servants of Charity. May God repay you for all your kindness and generosity.a boy and a girl, both in wheelchairs, entertain people gathered at Guanella Center covered court for the re-opening events.
