Manila – As part of the preparation for the feast of St. Louis Guanella, on October 18th the Guanella Center, school for persons with special needs celebrated United Nations Day. Our good children wore costumes representing the different countries.  It signifies unity, peace and love disregarding the differences of cultures and traditions.
The following day on October 19th the Guanellian community in Quezon City anticipated the celebration of the feast of St. Louis Guanella: a man of charity. The celebration opened with Holy Mass in the morning presided by Rev. Fr. Noel B. Azupardo, a diocesan priest of San Isidro Labrador Parish, and concelebrated by four Guanellian priests. The event was attended by Guanellian families, benefactors and lay cooperators, members of different Guanellian ministries and friends. Guanellian seminarians, youth and the Carmelite and Caritas sisters joined in singing praise and making the Eucharistic celebration solemn. It was a precious day also for ten people including some of our special children who received the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation. A simple lunch for the estimated 500 people followed Mass. A short program eliciting great enthusiasm brought the celebration to a close; sending everybody home with the message of charity to all the people.
