Dindigul – St. Antony’s Church, Kallathuppatti was decorated to celebrate the centennial of St. Louis Guanella October 25th with the entire community. Fr. K. A. Arockiasamy, the diocesan administrator of Dindigul, was the main celebrant for Mass. He stated at the opening of Mass that it was his privilege to have Guanellians in the diocese who commit their entire life for the underprivileged, especially differently-abled people. He also asked the people to cooperate with parish priests in order to develop a standard for the parish. Fr. Arockia Raj, SdC preached the homily, comparing Fr. Guanella’s works of mercy with the Gospel passage Mt. 25,35-36 and explaining his total trust in Divine Providence. After Mass Fr. John Paul, SdC thanked the seven priests, sisters and the parishioners for making the day more joyful. To exemplify the Founder’s words, “As long as there are poor and needy to assist, our charity never ends,” Rev. Fr. K. S. Arockiasamy distributed gifts to the poor. After that Fr. David, SdC distributed prizes for the Founder’s test and Bible competitions. All priests and religious from the area closed the day by sharing an Agape meal.
