Let’s Work Together

Sivagangai – On Sunday evening May 11th Yesuvanam was filled with 22 GLM members who are assisting the growth of our congregation. The event began with opening prayers by Fr. Paulraj, followed by Adoration. Everyone participated fully with open hearts and minds. The meeting to elect the leadership team started after Adoration. They unanimously elected Mr. Selvaraj as leader, Mr. Sahayaraj as secretary, and administrator will be Fr. Kulandaisamy. They have decided to meet bi-monthly and to help with special occasions as necessary. They also promised to spread word of our mission everywhere throughout the Sivagangai diocese. Fr. Kulandaisamy, superior of the community, Fr. Paulraj, director of Anbagam, and Fr. Franklin, administrator of the community, facilitated the gathering. After tea and cake everyone went home happily.

Superiors Visit Anbagam

Sivagangai – On February 19th the Superior General, Fr. Alfonso Crippa, the Secretary General, Fr. Gustavo and the Provincial Superior, Fr. Soosai arrived for a visit. The children were eagerly waiting to see them. Upon arrival at Anbagam, the good children welcomed them and honored them with garlands. The good children were in return given love and affection. Superior Kulandaisamy, Director Paulraj, and Administrator Franklin also welcomed them honored them with Ponnadai. The children of Anbagam performed wonderful programs including dance, song, and thirukural. Fr. Crippa spoke about the mission in India. Fr. Gustavo gave an enriching talk to the good children; and they gave their precious blessings to all.

Permanent Vocational Orientation

Chennai – After Theology courses were complete, the students of Don Guanella Major Seminary jumped into the camps to prepare themselves for perpetual preparation. They are experiencing different communities through various ways. They spent several days during October in the Thalavadi Community. The regular programs were arranged by Fr. Ligory in order to enjoy their stay with the special children. Basic orientation was given to help them attend to the needs of the poor while understanding the pastoral necessities of the community.

In November, they arrived in Yesuvanam; experiencing a warm welcome and orientation by Fr. Gnanaraj. Fr. Praveen organized a short seminar on ‘The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith.’ There was also a talk on ‘Administrative Skills in the Ministry’ by a Salesian priest.  A valuable talk, ‘Challenges in Religious Life,’ was given by a Servite priest. The Students share experiences and spend precious time with the ‘good children’ of Anbagam every day. Fr. Gustavo De Bonis joined the group to present ‘Guanellian Spirituality and Charism’
