Chelsea – The Italian American Club of Livonia celebrated its 20th Anniversary of support for St. Louis Center through their Culinary Extravaganza on Sunday January 25, 2015. What originally began as a banquet provided by the Club, has now turned into a major event with 15 restaurants and 5 bakeries and cafés donating all of the food for the event. Additionally, Fr. Enzo Addari begins the event with a Holy Mass in the lower level of the Club; followed by the dinner, a silent auction, and a gift raffle. During the course of the event, Fr. Enzo and Club members present the St. Louis Guanella Humanitarian Award to a deserving candidate, and the event ends with musical entertainment. St. Louis Center is grateful for the support of the local Italian Community, as the money raised from this event is used to fund the transportation program for the year.

Legazpi – Can a simple dinner be a tribute to the people who have done great things? It might not be a sufficient show of gratitude, but on August 26th, as STEP celebrated its 10th anniversary, 
the director and staff appreciatively honored all the good-hearted benefactors for the success of this program. The dinner began with a brief historical presentation of the activities of STEP over the past ten years, narrated by Fr. Battista Omodei. He expressed his joy of being present for the blessing of the STEP building and the subsequent activities; he welcomed the guests with gratitude and the event began. Each guest was given a simple souvenir and the book “Father Louis Guanella a Priest from the Mountain Father of the Poor.” It was a tribute to the benefactors not only for their financial contributions to the program but because they have become part of the family running it. They promised to continue their support in all possible ways.
