Corpus Christi Procession

Cuddalore – God is yearning to be with us. It is through the Eucharistic Lord, we are able to encounter Jesus and feel His presence. He calls out for us to come and see Him. The people of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor Church celebrated the feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus on June 18th. The Eucharistic Procession began at the parish. Fr. A. Periyanayagasamy, the Parish Priest, gave a blessing in the Church. Then the people piously moved towards Don Guanella Boys Home. Fr. Lawrence, the director of DGBH conducted half an hour of Adoration with the help of the boys home students. Eventually, the Eucharist was taken to St. Joseph Seminary. Fr. Amal Raj beautifully ended the ceremony with five lessons that we have to learn from the Eucharist: care, unity, sharing, humility and sacrifice.

Corpus Christi Celebration

Tiefenbronn – The Guanellian missionaries in Pforzheim, are not only ministering to Italian migrants but also to the German faithful in the deanery. On the solemnity of Corpus Domini, June 4th, Fr. Rocky celebrated Holy Mass followed by a Eucharistic Procession in Tiefenbronn, home of Gero Lombardo, German Procura. Besides the many people of God, several boys and girls were Altar servers and prayed at the Procession. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has been extinguished in some people, yet kept alive in others. Thanks to these faithful people; may the Lord make use of them to re-evangelize those who lose faith! And let me be a useful instrument in the hands of the Lord to rekindle the joy of the gospel in their midst.

New Pastor Installed

Cuddalore – A new parish priest was installed at the first Guanellian parish in India on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi June 6th. Representing the Bishop Vicar Forene, Rev. Fr. Antoni Raj, presided over the installation ceremony; renewing the baptismal promises of and appointing Fr. A. Periyanayaga Samy as pastor of Sagaya Matha parish. Rev. Fr. A. Soosai Rathinam, Provincial Superior, Rev. Fr. Visuwasam, Provincial Councilor, were also present. Many Guanellian priests and the Christian faithful of the parish took part in the installation ceremony. After Mass, farewells were offered to Rev. Fr. S. Periyanayaga Samy, previous pastor, and parishioners welcomed the new pastor. During the program Fr. Soosai formally welcomed the new pastor and thanked Fr. S. Periyanayaga Samy for his selfless service to the parish.

Corpus Christi Celebrated in Manila

Fr. Charlton Viray, SdC carries the Most Blessed Sacrament in procession during the celebration of the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ at the Guanella Center in Quezon City.

Quezon City – On Sunday, June 10 the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ was celebrated by Fr. Dong and concelebrated by Fr. Luigi at the Guanella Center. The feast of Corpus Christi reminds us of God’s love in the following ways:

• Jesus offers Himself, “Take this, it is My body.”
• He teaches HUMILITY, He took the form of bread, made from simple things, salt and flour, even poor families have salt and flour; instead of a delicacy like tapa or steak to represent His body to ensure that everyone has access to this sacred mystery (the Eucharist).
• He wanted to build a relationship that lasts, “Do this in memory of me”. He wanted to be present at every Eucharist, he said “I am with you always until the end of the age”. Truly He is present in the Eucharist.

After Mass, the whole community was invited to participate in a procession of the Blessed Sacrament, led by Fr. Charlton, followed by Benediction, and evening prayers.
