May Devotions at the Shrine

Grass Lake – The month of May, being dedicated to the Blessed Mother, was an encouraging phenomenon. Here at the Pious Union of St. Joseph, the month opened with a solemn celebration to St. Joseph, the Worker, on May 1st. The evening began with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and solemn evening prayer. Then the St. Joseph chaplet was recited; devotions concluded with benediction. The evening continued with snacks and a time of sharing how each person came to be a member of the Pious Union of St. Joseph.
May Crowning was on Sunday, May 3rd with Mass celebrated in the Grotto. After Mass, the Rosary was recited followed by the crowning of the Blessed Mother. The crown was presented by Annalise, who received her first communion the day before; Mary Parrish climbed up to place the crown on the Blessed Mother. The weather was perfect for May crowning. Blessed be the name of the Lord.PUSJ May Crowning 1 PUSJ May Crowning 7 PUSJ May Crowning 31 PUSJ May Crowning 44

E. Providence – May was a month full of spiritual growth for the students at Sacred Heart School. The second graders received their First Holy Communion and were featured in their Communion garments at the May Crowning. Mrs. Chalmers even brought the first graders to Adoration where they were all so excited to recite the Rosary in its entirety. Thank you Mary for guiding the children through the month dedicated to your honor.

May: Month of Mary, Month of Renewal of Commitments

A statue of the Blessed Mother crowned with flowers for the month of MayAs we honor the Blessed Virgin, we entrust to her the large number of confreres who have asked to renew their religious consecration this month, on the joyful occasion of St. Louis Guanella’s anniversary of priestly ordination. Likewise, we surround our novices in Bangalore who are about to make their first profession with fraternal support and prayers. Truly, our province continues to be blessed by youthful energies to be placed at the service of the Lord and of the poor wherever Divine Providence calls. Best wishes to all!
