Installation at Sivakasi

Krishnaperi – God is so gracious and showers His blessings to those who trust in Him, His arms protect us and His light leads us. The Divine Providence Province bore one more child according to God’s plan. The wing of Divine Providence grows larger and larger. Jesus says, in My Father’s home there are many rooms for the people likewise, there is room for everyone in the Servants of Charity especially for the special ones, God’s good children and the orphans. Jesus takes the children and says unless you become little children you cannot enter the kingdom of God. Don’t stop them; let the children come to Me. These words remind us to live a life pure in heart, a life of holiness. For these small ones a new community was installed at Krishnaperi.
On July 15, 2015 the Guanellians landed in Sivakasi, which belongs to the Archdiocese of Madurai, with the permission of Archbishop Antony Pappusamy, DD., STD. On that auspicious day the residence emerged with the help of Fr. S. Periyanayaga Samy, Fr. Vellington in a ceremony blessed by former Provincial Fr. Soosai Rathinam. After three years, St. Paul’s Boys Home, the mission of Sivakasi took shape. On October 6th, new Provincial Fr. J. Ronald installed the community in a Holy Eucharistic celebration. During Mass, as is the tradition of our congregation, the new superior, Fr. S. Periyanayaga Samy, made a profession of faith. Father provincial assigned a new obedience to the fathers. Fr. S. Periyanayaga Samy is Superior of the community and Parish Priest of Krishnaperi mission. Fr. J. David is 1st Councilor and vice superior, administrator and director of the boys home. Fr. A. Arockia Vanathaiyan is councilor, assistant director of the boys home and assistant parish priest in Krishnaperi. Let us support the new community with your powerful prayer.

Sweet Dreams

Cuddalore – Every night we snuggle into our bed to dream away the day and prepare for the next. For most people bed is a safe place, their warm and cuddle place that they look forward to getting into each night. Some love their bed so much that it’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. We sincerely thank Aschi for generously providing 75 beds for the orphans. We hope the beds will make our boys rest more easily. Don Guanella Boys Home students are very happy to have a cot. It will certainly help them sleep better.

Gratitude for Graces Received

Vatluru – Guanella Karunalaya is flooded with gratitude for everyone who helped build a new kitchen for the community. The work began with enthusiasm, struggles ensued in the process, but fortitude triumphed in the end. As a token of our gratitude we thank Fr. Joseph Rinaldo who helped with funding for the new kitchen. We also thank each and everyone for the extra support, it was certainly worthwhile. This new kitchen will be useful for the confreres, elderly, and orphanage boys.

Singam’s Celebration

Boys at a birthday party

Singam eats cakeCuddalore – The birthday of K. Raja, a ‘special’ boy, was celebrated on July 16th at Don Guanella Boys Home. It made him very happy. The special occasion began with Mass for the boys, minor seminarians and guests. Dinner was served after Mass followed by birthday cake cutting and a cultural program by the boys. Raja’s parents died in a Tsunami in 2004 and he has lived at DGBH since. He is very happy and even with his limited knowledge, he is able to guide the other boys to be punctual in every aspect of their lives. It was touching that all the boys gave him wishes and prayed for him.

A New ‘Benjamin’ Arrives at Boys Home

David, the new 'Benjamin'

David, the new 'Benjamin'Vatluru – St. Louis Guanella, founder of the Servants of Charity, set a precedent by taking in three children in Switzerland. In India, there are many of these ‘Benjamins,’ least ones who need to be cared for. This is David; he was abandoned by his mother, but is now in the care of the Servants of Charity at Guanella Karunalaya. Through the Providence of God, he will have all that he needs to grow and become the man that God has intended him to be.
