Fourth Provincial Chapter

Pondicherry – The Divine Providence Province’s Fourth Provincial Chapter began as the chapter fathers gathered at Prsahanth Vanam on November 20th. Fr. Alphonso Crippa, Superior General, enlightened the confreres with inspiring thoughts during his recollection talk. He highlighted three important points: Wisdom of God, Guanellian Simplicity and Mission. He underlined the fact that we are gathered here not merely just to make some governing proposals or administrative rules, but to seek what the Lord wants from us. He stressed the importance of dialogue and fraternity. The chapter continued until the evening of the 24th. The chapter fathers went to St. Joseph’s Seminary for the Silver Jubilee of their presence in India and Golden Jubilee celebration of Fr. Joe.

New Release from Guanellian Publications

Cuddalore – Guanellian Publications from Divine Providence Province has happily yielded another new fruit namely “Manasu” a psychological book on June 23rd the solemn Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, by Most Rev. Dr. Singarayer, the bishop of Selam diocese in Sacred Heart Shrine, Pondicherry. The book is a compilation made up of the choicest articles that were published in ‘Anbin Suvadugal’ magazine for past few years. The book comprises of all the life issues and solutions for all life stages and all kinds of people. Fr. Amalraj is the editor of this beautiful book.

Educational Excursion

Cuddalore – The students of St. Joseph’s Evening School went on a day long picnic and excursion to Pondicherry. This educational picnic equipped the children with knowledge on different educational dimensions. It helped them discover ways to develop their fraternity, friendship and more over to relax and refresh themselves from crushing works from school, tasks of tuition, and other miscellaneous obligations. Thanks to ASCI group for their care and concern for these poor faces of Jesus.

Fraternal Trip

Cuddalore – “How beautiful it is, when brothers live in unity and happiness”. To further increase community spirit and fellowship among the young scholastics at St. Joseph’s Seminary, the priests arranged a trip to Aarovil Beach, Pondicherry. This trip delighted the young brothers and gave them more space for fraternity. It helped them get to know each other better and relate more fervently in genuine family spirit.

Literary Association Forms

books, books, booksCuddalore – St. Joseph’s Literary Association was officially inaugurated on July 13th. The program, “Education is the Key to Knowledge,” was presided over by Mr. Michael Benno, Principal of V.O.C Hr. Sec. School, Pondicherry. The ceremony was not only to begin the Literary Association but also to create a new literary taste among the brothers through dance, song, skit and speech. During the presidential address, Mr. Benno shared his thoughts about ‘education’ and its current state in India. He told the seminarians that they made the right choice like Maria, Abraham and Moses. Finally he asked everyone to formulate a vision and mission statement for their future. The program ended with the Papal Anthem.
