Laying of New Beginnings

Cuddalore – On November 25th the foundation stone of the new parish church for Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Samupillai Nagar, was laid by Fr. Alfonso Crippa, Superior General. This great event happened in the presence of Fr. Gustavo De Bonis, General Secretary; Fr. Soosai Rathinam, Provincial Superior; Fr. Visuwasam, Superior of the Cuddalore community; Fr. Periyanayagasamy, Parish Priest, and many other Guanellian priests and sisters as well as the whole parish community. Thus the dream of the parish is now becoming a reality in this jubilee year of the Guanellian presence in India. Let us pray that construction of the church goes on without any disturbance.

Parishioners Receive Indulgence

Kumbakonam – In the month Our Lady of the Rosary and the Holy Founder, the Guanellian Family from Divine Providence Parish went on pilgrimage to Cuddalore to receive the Plenary Indulgence. On October 17th the 100 pilgrims set out, stopping at Laity Retreat Center, Pappakudi, for coffee and biscuits, arriving at St. Joseph’s Seminary for breakfast. The pilgrims then went to Sagaya Matha Parish, Samupillai Nagar, for confession and Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Visuwasam. Fr. Maria Paul preached the homily, speaking about the Founder’s activities and the meaning of Indulgence. After Mass, the Cuddalore GLM served tea and cake to the pilgrims before they left for Our Lady of Saleth Shrine, Varadarajanpet. They arrived at the shrine to pray for the intercession of Mother Mary before heading back to Guanella Nagar Parish. Everyone enjoyed the experience and truly felt the guiding hands of Our Lady of Saleth and St. Louis Guanella.

Eucharistic Procession

cuddolore prish (1)Cuddalore -Sagaya Matha Parish, Samupillai Nagar conducted a Eucharistic procession on July 6th.  The car procession formed at the Parish Church and had its first station at Don Guanella Boys Home, the second station at St. Joseph’s Seminary. Three priests were invited and they led meditations based on Eucharistic Spirituality, namely Eucharist as the symbol of love, conversion and sacrifice. Many people from the parish actively participated in the procession and went away with spiritual and divine blessings. With the guidance of the priest, the parish council successfully organized the event.
